Breaking up heart artery calcium: new procedure under the microscope
NCT ID NCT07444346
Summary
This study is looking at a procedure called intravascular lithotripsy (IVL) for people with severe calcium buildup in their heart arteries. The procedure uses a special balloon to break up the hard calcium so that a stent can be placed more effectively. Researchers will follow 200 patients to see how well the procedure works and how safe it is in the short and long term.
