Heart of the matter: Alzheimer's amyloid may harm the heart too
NCT ID NCT07154394
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 33 times
Summary
This study looks at whether the same amyloid deposits found in the brains of people with Alzheimer's disease can also build up in the heart and cause heart problems. Researchers will use special PET scans to check the hearts of 15 Alzheimer's patients who are already getting brain scans. The goal is to better understand the link between Alzheimer's and heart amyloidosis, which could improve diagnosis for both conditions.
