First seen Nov 06, 2025 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study looked at whether it's possible and acceptable to screen for hearing loss in the emergency department (ED). Researchers tested 133 veterans with mild hearing problems to see if using a hearing device improved their communication with doctors and nurses. The goal was to gather information to help decide if routine hearing checks in the ED are worthwhile.
