Biomarker-Guided trial aims to find best chemo for head and neck cancer

Summary

This study tests which chemotherapy combination works better when given with radiation for advanced head and neck cancer. About 120 adults with stage III or IV disease will receive either cisplatin or a mix of docetaxel and cetuximab. Researchers will also check if a tumor marker called ERCC1 helps predict which treatment is best.
