Gut check: could your microbiome predict dangerous blood infections?
NCT ID NCT07183722
First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study looks at how the bacteria living in your gut might influence the risk of developing serious blood infections, especially in adults hospitalized during the COVID-19 pandemic. Researchers will analyze the gut bacteria of 86 patients to see if certain microbes offer protection against drug-resistant infections. The goal is to better understand and track antibiotic resistance, not to test a new treatment.
