Gut-Brain link: could probiotics help stressed kids with autism?

NCT ID NCT06269614

First seen Feb 26, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study looks at how gut bacteria are linked to stress in children with autism or those who have faced tough experiences. Researchers will collect stool samples, saliva, and use eye-tracking to measure stress responses. 75 children ages 4-7 will take a probiotic powder for 4 weeks. The goal is to understand the gut-brain connection, not to test a treatment.
