Scientists probe Gut's role in cancer drug side effect

NCT ID NCT07264998

Summary

This study aims to understand why some breast cancer patients experience severe diarrhea while taking the drug abemaciclib. Researchers will compare the gut bacteria of 60 patients who develop diarrhea with those who do not by analyzing stool and blood samples. The goal is to learn if differences in gut bacteria explain this common side effect, which could help future patients.
