New shell tames gummy smiles without surgery

Summary
This study tested a custom 3D-printed PEEK shell placed under the gum to reduce a gummy smile. Ten adults with at least 2.5 mm of excess gum display took part. The shell was inserted using a tunnel technique to lift the gum and improve smile appearance. The study measured how much the gum display decreased and how satisfied patients were.
