New 'Accordion' gum graft aims to reduce pain for dental patients
NCT ID NCT07365865
Summary
This study compares two surgical methods to add more firm, healthy gum tissue to the jaw before placing dental implants. Researchers are testing a newer 'accordion' technique, which uses a smaller graft from the roof of the mouth, against the standard free gingival graft. The goal is to see if the newer method causes less pain and shrinkage while still providing enough sturdy gum tissue to support future implants.
