First seen May 09, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study tested whether giving growth hormone to children with short bowel syndrome could help them reduce or stop needing nutrition through an IV. Fourteen children aged 3 to 18 who had been on IV nutrition for at least 3 years took part. Some received growth hormone for 4 months, while others did not, and researchers compared how much they could reduce IV feeding.
