New group program aims to save veterans from suicide
NCT ID NCT03653637
Summary
This study tested whether a new group therapy program called 'Project Life Force' could better help Veterans at high risk for suicide compared to standard individual care. The 10-week program taught coping skills, emotion regulation, and safety planning in a group setting to 294 Veterans recently hospitalized for suicidal thoughts or attempts. Researchers wanted to see if learning these skills together with other Veterans would reduce suicidal behavior more effectively than working alone with a therapist.
