Could a spoonful of grape powder protect your heart after surgery?

NCT ID NCT05991700

Summary

This study is testing if a concentrated grape powder, taken before heart surgery, can prevent a common complication called postoperative atrial fibrillation (POAF), which is an irregular heartbeat. Researchers believe natural compounds in grapes might reduce inflammation that can trigger this problem. The study will enroll about 70 patients aged 50-79 who are scheduled for elective mitral valve repair surgery.
