Can a menopause-mimicking drug fight fatty liver in endometriosis patients?

NCT ID NCT06523530

First seen Feb 03, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a medication called goserelin acetate, which temporarily stops menstruation (like a short-term menopause), can reduce fat buildup in the liver of women with endometriosis. About 62 women will receive the drug and have their liver fat and stiffness measured using ultrasound. The goal is to see if this approach can help manage fatty liver disease in this group.
