Could cutting out gluten ease debilitating liver and gut disease?
NCT ID NCT06026449
Summary
This study is exploring whether following a gluten-free diet can help control symptoms and slow disease progression in people with primary sclerosing cholangitis (a serious liver disease) and ulcerative colitis (a type of inflammatory bowel disease). Researchers will track 60 patients who switch to the diet, measuring changes in lab tests, gut bacteria, and quality of life. The goal is to see if this dietary change can become a new way to manage these chronic conditions.
