Could cutting out gluten ease serious liver and gut diseases?

NCT ID NCT06026449

Summary

This study is testing whether following a gluten-free diet can help control symptoms and slow the progression of two related diseases: primary sclerosing cholangitis (a serious liver disease) and ulcerative colitis (a type of inflammatory bowel disease). Researchers will enroll 60 patients who are not already on a gluten-free diet to see if avoiding gluten improves their lab results, gut health, and quality of life. The goal is to see if this dietary change can become a new way to manage these chronic conditions.
