Could a simple supplement ease Veterans' War-Related stomach pain?
NCT ID NCT05972291
Summary
This study is testing if an over-the-counter supplement called glutamine can help reduce chronic stomach pain, diarrhea, and bloating in veterans with Gulf War Illness. Researchers will give 80 veterans either glutamine or a placebo pill for 12 weeks to see if it improves their symptoms and heals their gut lining. The goal is to find a better way to manage these painful, long-lasting digestive problems that started during military service.
