Sweet cravings in Parkinson's: could sugar boost brain function?

NCT ID NCT05998772

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 27, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study looks at why many people with Parkinson's disease crave sugary foods and whether eating fast-acting sugars improves their symptoms. Researchers will give 50 participants a sugar drink and a placebo on different days, measuring insulin, blood sugar, and movement. The goal is to understand the link between sugar intake and Parkinson's symptoms, not to test a new treatment.
