First seen May 14, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study looks at whether giving a short course of hydrocortisone (a steroid) after removing an adrenal gland can help slow kidney function decline in people with primary aldosteronism (a hormone problem causing high blood pressure) who also have chronic kidney disease. About 90 adults will be randomly assigned to receive either standard care or the steroid therapy. The main goal is to compare changes in kidney function one year after surgery.
