First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study looked at whether taking a beta-glucan supplement (from a type of fungus) along with regular combined exercise could improve muscle strength, mass, and function in adults with relative sarcopenia (age-related muscle loss). Over 12 weeks, 116 participants were randomly assigned to receive either the supplement or a placebo, plus exercise. The goal was to see if this combination could help manage the condition.
