Could a diabetes drug curb heavy drinking in HIV patients?

Summary
This study tests whether semaglutide, a drug used for diabetes, can help adults with HIV reduce how much alcohol they drink. It will also check if it helps them smoke less and lowers their risk of heart disease. About 200 people will take the drug or a placebo for 3 months and provide blood, stool, and saliva samples. The goal is to find new ways to improve overall health in people living with HIV.
