Gum retraction showdown: cord vs. gel in dental crown prep

NCT ID NCT07255976

First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study compares two methods for temporarily moving gum tissue away from teeth during dental crown work: a traditional retraction cord and an aluminum chloride gel. Researchers will measure how well each method opens space, how long it takes, and how well bleeding is controlled. The study involves 66 adults aged 18-50 who need at least two dental crowns.
