First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study compares two ways to temporarily move gum tissue away from teeth to make dental crowns or bridges. One method uses a special string (retraction cord) and the other uses a gel (aluminum chloride). The goal is to see which method works better, takes less time, and causes less bleeding. The study involves 66 adults aged 18 to 50 who need a fixed bridge or crown on at least two teeth.
