Gel vs. cord: which works better for gum retraction?

NCT ID NCT07255976

First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated Jun 07, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study compares two methods used to temporarily move the gums away from teeth during dental crown procedures: a traditional retraction cord and an aluminum chloride gel. Researchers will measure how well each method displaces the gum tissue, how long it takes to place, and how well it controls bleeding. The study involves 66 adults aged 18 to 50 who need a fixed dental prosthesis on at least two teeth.
