First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study looks at whether using a simple genetic test (CYP2D6) can help doctors choose the right opioid painkiller for each patient after elective ventral hernia repair. About 100 adults having surgery with mesh will either get standard pain management or a prescription guided by their genetic profile. The goal is to see if this personalized approach leads to better pain control and quality of life during recovery.
