First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study looks at whether using a simple genetic test (CYP2D6) can help doctors prescribe better opioid painkillers for people recovering from ventral hernia repair. About 100 adults having elective surgery will be split into two groups: one gets standard pain management, the other gets pain medicine chosen based on their DNA. The goal is to see if this personalized approach improves pain control and quality of life after surgery.
