First seen Jan 16, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study aims to better understand inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) by collecting tissue samples from people with and without the condition. Researchers will analyze gene activity and other biological markers to uncover what causes IBD. Up to 1,100 participants aged 7 and older who are already scheduled for an endoscopy or bowel surgery will provide samples. No new treatment is offered; the goal is purely to learn more about the disease.
