RLS drug study seeks gene clues behind worsening symptoms

NCT ID NCT06726785

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study looks at how taking certain RLS medications for a long time may change the activity of genes in nasal cells. Researchers will compare people who have used these drugs for less than a month to those who have used them for six months or more. The goal is to understand why some patients develop worsening symptoms, called augmentation syndrome. The study involves 50 adults with RLS who are currently on a dopamine agonist like pramipexole or ropinirole.
