First seen Feb 19, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study tested a new securement device for gastrostomy buttons (feeding tubes) in children to reduce common problems like leakage, dislodgement, and skin irritation. About 182 children aged 1 month to 18 years were randomly assigned to use either the new device or standard dressing. The goal was to see if the new device leads to fewer complications and less caregiver strain.
