First seen Apr 03, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study looks at how long people with type 2 diabetes should stop taking GLP-1 medications (like semaglutide) before surgery to ensure their stomach is empty. About 38 participants will have three stomach ultrasounds over a week after fasting. The goal is to find a safe waiting period to reduce the risk of food or liquid entering the lungs during anesthesia.
