First seen Feb 05, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study tests whether a gamified exercise program can improve heart and lung fitness in hardcore smokers (at least 20 cigarettes a day) who are not very active. Sixty participants will take part in a 12-week program with no control group. Researchers will measure changes in fitness and smoking behavior to see if making exercise fun helps people quit.
