First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study tested whether adding game-like features to a visual mapping app helps people with mild-to-moderate Alzheimer's or related dementias stay engaged and improves their quality of life. Sixty participants (each with a primary caregiver) used either the gamified app or the standard app for six months. Researchers measured app usage and quality-of-life changes to see if gamification makes a difference.
