New study: simple running tweak eases knee pain in women
NCT ID NCT07176819
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 32 times
Summary
This study looked at whether teaching female runners with patellofemoral pain (runner's knee) to change their running step rate (cadence) using a wearable device can reduce pain and improve function. 44 women aged 18-45 who ran at least 15 km per week took part. Half received gait retraining with a wearable device, while the other half only got education. The goal was to see if this approach lowers knee stress and eases symptoms better than advice alone.
