New scan may tell tumor from treatment damage in brain cancer patients

NCT ID NCT06444412

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 35 times

Summary

This study tests whether a special PET scan using GA-68 PSMA-11 can help doctors tell the difference between a returning brain tumor (glioma) and changes caused by previous treatment. About 25 adults with grade 3 or 4 glioma who are already scheduled for surgery will get this scan beforehand. The goal is to see if the scan is safe and accurate, which could reduce the need for invasive biopsies in the future.
