New Pill-and-Shot combo targets tough colon cancer before surgery

Summary
This study tests a chemotherapy-free treatment for people with a specific genetic form of colorectal cancer (KRAS G12C mutation) that has spread locally or to a few spots that can be removed. About 40 participants will take two drugs (fulzerasib pills and cetuximab shots) for two months before surgery. The goal is to shrink or eliminate the tumor, making surgery safer and possibly improving long-term outcomes. This is not a cure, as ongoing monitoring and further treatment may still be needed.
