Freeze vs. botox: new nerve treatment tested for debilitating stiffness pain

NCT ID NCT07303582

Summary

This study is testing if freezing specific nerves (cryoneurolysis) works better than standard Botox injections to reduce pain caused by severe muscle stiffness (spasticity). It will involve 50 adults with conditions like stroke, multiple sclerosis, or spinal cord injury. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the freezing treatment or Botox, and researchers will track their pain levels, side effects, and ability to do daily activities over 24 weeks.
