Doctors test freezing tumors to boost chemo power
NCT ID NCT07222657
Summary
This study is testing if freezing cancerous tissue in the esophagus with liquid nitrogen before standard chemotherapy helps patients more than chemotherapy alone. It will involve 40 adults with locally advanced esophageal cancer who are scheduled to receive chemotherapy. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either two sessions of the freezing treatment plus chemo, or just chemo, to see which approach leads to better outcomes.
