NCT ID NCT07427745
First seen Feb 25, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This study examined whether a diagonal crease on the earlobe, known as Frank's sign, is more common in smokers and could help spot early signs of heart disease. Researchers compared 404 adults aged 40-59 who were current, former, or non-smokers. The goal was to see if this simple, non-invasive check could help doctors quickly identify people at higher risk for cardiovascular problems.
