First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated Jun 17, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study looked at whether frailty can predict who survives cardiogenic shock, a life-threatening condition where the heart suddenly can't pump enough blood. Researchers analyzed data from over 200,000 adults admitted to intensive care units across South Korea. They found that frailty is a strong predictor of in-hospital death, and its impact varies with age.
