Frailty predicts death in heart shock, study finds

NCT ID NCT07260084

First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated Apr 25, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study looked at over 200,000 adults with cardiogenic shock, a life-threatening condition where the heart suddenly can't pump enough blood. Researchers wanted to see if frailty (a measure of weakness and vulnerability) could predict who would survive, and if age changed that link. The study only observed medical records, so it did not test any new treatment.
