First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study looks at 80 critically ill patients aged 65 and older to see if measuring thigh muscle thickness with a bedside ultrasound can help identify frailty and malnutrition. Researchers will take ultrasound measurements and assess frailty using a standard scale within the first week in the ICU. The goal is to find a quick, safe way to spot muscle loss and guide better care.
