First seen Mar 25, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study is observing 500 adults who are having a procedure called left atrial appendage closure (LAAC) to prevent strokes. Researchers want to see how frailty—a measure of weakness and vulnerability—affects their recovery, complications, and quality of life. No new treatment is being tested; the goal is to better understand which patients may need extra support.
