Gut check: can diet predict transplant complications?

NCT ID NCT04660487

First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study looks at how certain carbohydrates (FODMAPs) in the diet are broken down by gut bacteria and whether that relates to graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) after a bone marrow transplant. Researchers will follow 100 patients who have had a successful transplant to track when and how severe GVHD occurs. The goal is to better understand the link between diet, gut bacteria, and transplant outcomes.
