Glowing dye helps surgeons remove fewer lymph nodes in early stomach cancer

NCT ID NCT06788548

First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study tests a new surgery approach for early gastric cancer that uses a fluorescent dye to find the first lymph nodes where cancer might spread. By removing only those nodes instead of many, doctors hope to preserve more stomach function and improve quality of life. The trial will compare this method to standard surgery in 312 adults aged 18-80 who are candidates for curative surgery. The main goal is to see if the new approach offers similar cancer control over 3 to 5 years.
