New chemo combo aims to cut relapse after stem cell transplant for AML patients

NCT ID NCT05917405

First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study compares two chemotherapy regimens given before a stem cell transplant in 302 adults with AML in remission. The goal is to see if a stronger drug (clofarabine) can improve survival at 2 years compared to the standard drug (fludarabine). Participants must be at least 18, in remission, and have a matched donor. The approach aims to reduce relapse, but lifelong monitoring and possible medication are still needed.
