New breathing technique may sharpen liver tumor treatment
NCT ID NCT07291271
First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study tested a new way of helping patients breathe during a procedure that destroys liver tumors with heat or electricity. The new method, called flow-controlled ventilation, keeps the diaphragm more still than standard methods, which could help doctors place the treatment needle more accurately. 41 adults having liver tumor ablation took part to see if this technique works better than the usual approach.
