New study explores camera-based cancer surveillance without general anesthesia

NCT ID NCT07557563

First seen May 03, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This pilot study will test whether a thin, flexible camera inserted through the urinary tract can safely monitor people who have had kidney-sparing surgery for upper tract urothelial carcinoma. Ten adults will undergo the procedure under local anesthesia (awake but numb) to see if it can be completed successfully and without complications. The goal is to find a less invasive way to check for cancer recurrence.
