New drug trial aims to halt sepsis progression in seniors
NCT ID NCT05758246
Summary
This study is testing whether a drug called fisetin can slow down organ failure in older adults who have developed a mild case of sepsis, a life-threatening response to infection. Researchers will give different doses to 220 hospitalized patients aged 65+ to see which one best improves heart, lung, and kidney function over one week. The goal is to find a treatment that controls the disease's progression and prevents it from becoming more severe.
