Firefighter cancer screening study pulled before it began
NCT ID NCT06836414
First seen Nov 12, 2025 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study planned to give low-dose CT scans to firefighters aged 35 and older to check for lung cancer and other lung diseases caused by job-related smoke and chemical exposure. It aimed to see if screening based on occupation, not just smoking history, could catch cancers earlier. However, the study was withdrawn before any firefighters were enrolled, so no results are available.
