Simple Finger-Prick test could uncover hidden heart failure

NCT ID NCT07320677

First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a quick blood test (NT-proBNP) can help doctors find heart failure earlier in adults who take water pills but haven't been diagnosed. About 400 people from GP practices in Jersey will take part. Some practices will offer the test, while others will continue usual care. The goal is to see if screening leads to more heart failure diagnoses and uncovers other heart problems within a year.
