First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study looks at whether offering small financial rewards can help people with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or substance use disorder stick to their long-acting injectable medications after being hospitalized against their will. About 1,000 participants will be randomly assigned to either receive these incentives or standard care. The goal is to see if this approach improves medication adherence and reduces the need for future involuntary hospitalizations.
