Scientists probe skin cells for clues to aortic aneurysm risk

NCT ID NCT06786754

First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study looks at skin cells (fibroblasts) from 15 people with Marfan syndrome or other genetic conditions that cause thoracic aortic aneurysms. Researchers want to understand how these cells behave and what genes are turned on or off, which could help identify markers of aneurysm growth. No treatments or medications are tested—only observation and lab analysis.
