Summary

This study tests a fetal surgery called FETO for severe congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH), a condition where a hole in the diaphragm allows organs to crowd the lungs. Researchers will place a tiny balloon in the fetal windpipe to encourage lung growth, then remove it before birth. The trial includes 10 pregnant women and focuses on whether the procedure is safe and feasible.

Phase

Not a phased trial

Phase numbers describe drug development. The registry uses this when they do not apply, as it does for trials of devices, procedures or behaviour changes, and for observational studies.
